Boutique Japan travel

Japan rewards curiosity

We design journeys that leave room for it: unhurried mornings, long walks, and the meal nobody planned.

Four things we hold to.

Four decisions that shape every trip we plan.

  • Small groups, and private trips

Never more than a dozen of us. Often just you. A group small enough to change its mind at lunch.

  • Local knowledge

We plan around the neighbourhood, not the landmark. The street behind the temple is usually the reason you came.

  • Balanced journeys

Fushimi Inari at seven in the morning, and an afternoon with nothing in it. Both are part of the plan.

  • Support in your language

English, فارسی and 日本語 — before you book, and at eleven at night in Osaka.

Three steps, and a lot of listening.

The first one is only a few lines.

  1. Tell us your dates and your style

A short form, then a real conversation. There is no obligation at any point, and no charge for the planning.

  2. We design your journey

A day-by-day plan with routes, stays and the reasoning behind each choice. You change what you want changed.

  3. Travel Japan, with us behind you

Trains booked, reservations made, and someone on the end of a message the whole time you are there.

A torii is a gateway, not a destination.

Fred came to Japan for two weeks and stayed. What kept him was not the temples but the ordinary distance between them — the train that runs on time through rice fields, the coffee shop that has been open since 1962, the way a town changes character three stops down the line.

Little Torii exists because that country is hard to find from a booking site. A small gate is not much to look at. It is what it opens onto that matters.
